The first picture above is from a month ago and anyone even casually glancing at it should realize that something is wrong with that pie chart. Apparently <em>Fox News<\/em> didn&#8217;t just make a mistake in getting the graphics right, its news anchor <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2009\/11\/23\/fox-pie-chart\/\">Byron Harlan<\/a> actually spoke these figures out loud as part of his news report.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5465  aligncenter\" title=\"foxpoll\" src=\"https:\/\/calltoreason.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/foxpoll.jpg\" alt=\"foxpoll\" width=\"438\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/calltoreason.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/foxpoll.jpg 438w, https:\/\/calltoreason.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/foxpoll-300x192.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 438px) 100vw, 438px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This second graphic appeared only recently and again, it&#8217;s very obvious that the figures don&#8217;t add up. What&#8217;s worse is that the original statistics came from reputable polling agencies and their original figures certainly make sense but <em>Fox News<\/em> seems to have decided to interpret them more creatively. This post on <em><a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/2009\/12\/08\/fox-poll-120\/\">Think Progress<\/a><\/em> explains that fuzzy reasoning. Goofing up the occasional graphic is understandable, but when your news anchors repeat these mistakes on air, it smacks of a deliberate conspiracy, especially when well-educated, highly intelligent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theweek.com\/article\/index\/103942\/Is_Gretchen_Carlson_playing_dumb\">news anchors<\/a> pretend to be dumb in order to better connect with an anti-intellectual audience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Or at least it seems to be for the notorious U.S.-based network Fox News.
